What to wear

ALL OF YOUR CHILD’S CLOTHES SHOULD BE CLEARLY NAMED

We have a Pre-school sweatshirt available to buy at £12

Dress your child in casually styled clothes appropriate for the seasonal temperature and suitable for Pre-school activities. Also, note that your child will be taking part in outside activities during all weather, and as most of the outside area is grass, your child will probably get muddy.

We provide aprons etc., but it is important that your child does not need to worry about getting dirty, as this will limit their enthusiasm for joining in the activities.

Please ensure that your child is dressed in clothing that encourages his/her independence, such as pull-on trousers/joggers.

It is important that your child is dressed appropriately for going outside every day. Your child will ALWAYS need a suitable coat.

Independence

It is also important for your child’s self-esteem to develop independence about putting on their coat and changing from inside shoes to wellies; therefore, you will see and hear staff encouraging all of the children when they are trying to learn these skills.

Footwear

Shoes

It is vital that your child has slip on or Velcro style shoes so that they are able to put them on and off themselves.

Slippers

While inside the setting your child should have a pair of indoor slippers or pumps as the hall floor can be very slippery at times and we have found that these are non slip and the best  for safety and comfort. You will need to provide your child with a pair of slippers to wear, these should be kept in their drawer to change into when they arrive.

Wellington Boots

Your child should have a pair of wellington boots which are left in the basket so that they are always available.

Sun Hat/Cap

You should send in a sun hat/cap to be left at Pre-school.
